AUSTRALIA BOUND NEW SSANGYONG? WE’LL LET YOU KNOW

2019 SsangYong Musso Ute (pick-up) buyers in the UK can now take a new-generation SsangYong Musso for a test drive with the vehicle arriving now in dealerships.

SsangYong, now 73% owned by the Indian auto giants Mahindra, say the pick-up is “all new”, although it does looks somewhat like the Musso that was sold previously in Australia.

Despite the somewhat familiar looks, SsangYong say the new version is longer, stretching to over 5 meters (5,095mm).

While the load bed is also longer (1,300mm), wider (1,570mm) and considerably deeper (570mm).

Capable of lugging a full-sized Euro pallet, the UK version boasts a one-tonne payload capacity and 3.5 tonne towing capacity.

SsangYong say the new ute is a tough, strong and value-for-money 4×4.

Built on the same architecture as the new Rexton SUV – SsangYong in the UK is backing the new-gen Musso with an impressive 7-year/150,000-mile warranty (240,000km).

Under the bonnet is a 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine (manufactured by SsangYong), which delivers 133kW and 400Nm.

Transmission choose is six-speed manual or optional Aisin six-speed auto.

Creature comforts include nappa leather seats (in the top of the range model), heated and ventilated seats, digital radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
